Termind is a native remote workspace that brings SSH, SFTP, split workspaces, and an optional AI assistant into one app.

The current version is being developed for macOS. Other platforms have not been formally announced, and the Termind brand is not intended to be limited to one platform.

No. The terminal and remote connection features work independently. The AI assistant, web search, and MCP are optional.

To use AI, configure credentials for OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or a compatible endpoint. Termind does not provide a hosted model account.

They are stored in Apple’s Data Protection Keychain. Software credentials can stay on this Mac or sync through iCloud Keychain. Secure Enclave private keys are non-exportable and do not sync.

When Vault iCloud sync is enabled, hosts, identity metadata, Known Hosts entries, snippets, and port-forwarding rules sync through your private CloudKit database.

Shell Integration is an optional terminal enhancement for bash, zsh, and fish. After connecting, Termind installs temporary hooks in the current remote shell process to keep the working directory current, record commands you confirm and run, and detect the remote distribution, kernel, and architecture. It does not modify remote shell configuration files. SSH and SFTP still work when it is disabled, but the current directory, command history, Command Generator, and some contextual features may be unavailable.

No Termind agent, daemon, or other persistent software is required. The remote host only needs a working SSH service; SFTP features also require the SSH server’s SFTP subsystem. When Shell Integration is enabled, Termind runs temporary hooks only inside the current remote shell session. They leave no background process after disconnecting and do not modify your shell configuration files.
